Useful information and frequently asked questions
How long will my prescription take?
Our service asks for 10 working days to process your prescription requests. This is to allow time for the prescriber to write the prescription, pharmacy to collect, dispense and deliver to you.
How will I get my medication or prescription?
Your prescription will be sent to A+ or Vesey Pharmacy (depending on your postcode) and they will deliver the medication to your home address.
There is an option on the request form if you would prefer to collect your prescription from us and take to a pharmacy of your choice.
It has been more than 10 working days and I have not received my medication, what should I do?
Please contact the relevant centre processing your prescription request on the email or telephone numbers above and we will look into this for you.
I need a prescription urgently, what should I do?
We are not an emergency service and are not able to process requests urgently. We will however try our best to accommodate. Please put a note to the prescriber on the prescription request form (question 10) and explain your request and reasons. A secretary will contact you and inform of you of when your prescription can be done.
I need a medication increase/change, what should I do?
Please leave a note to prescriber on the request form (question 10) with details of why you are requesting a change to medication. You may need a clinic appointment to discuss this and see your child before this can be actioned. We will arrange this if necessary and secretary will contact you to confirm this. In some cases changes may be possible able to increase without an additional clinic appointment.

We're switching to Electronic Prescriptions (EPS).
EPS is a free and easy secure service, which sends your prescription electronically to your chosen pharmacy. EPS is replacing paper prescriptions, working towards a paper free NHS. EPS is being piloted in our Community Paediatrics and ADHD Nursing services.
Benefits of EPS:
- Reduces the time taken for prescriptions to be created.
- You can choose which pharmacy your prescription is sent to.
- Your pharmacy can track your prescription.
- Secure, your prescription cannot be lost.
- Improved safety and service better for prescriber, dispenser, and patient.
Please look out for information about these changes which will be sent to you in the coming weeks.
