Fundraising and Events

Find out about upcoming or ongoing events and fundraisers.

There are lots of fun activities you can do to help support BCHC Charity. From tasty treat sales to comedy nights, marathons to gaming tournaments; there’s bound to be something for everyone!

Two ladies on bikes smile at the cameraWhether you're dressing up for a fun day, taking part in a triathlon, running your own gaming marathon, or doing your own thing, you can set up a fundraising page so that all your hard work and dedication can pay off for BCHC Charity! Whatever you're doing, you'll be helping BCHC Charity continue in our mission to improve patient care, enhance service users experience, and support Team BCHC staff.

BCHC Charity uses JustGiving for fundraising. To set up a fundraising page, visit www.justgiving.com/bchc-charity, click the Fundraising for Us button and follow JustGiving’s instructions. If you would like your fundraising to go to a particular team or department, make sure to include that in the story on your page, so that as your fundraising is paid to us we can ensure it is banked into the right charitable fund.

If you have an idea for a fundraiser but would like to discuss this with one of the team, please do not hesitate to pop us an email at bchc.charity@nhs.net and we'll be in touch to help you help us!

BCHC Charity also host our own fundraising events throughout the year, as well as working with EasyFundraising to raise donations whilst you shop at no extra cost to you! Click on the headings below to find out more.

NHS Birthday Bash

Raise a cuppa for your NHS heroes!

In celebration of the creation of the NHS, BCHC Charity invites you to join us in a tremendous tea party! The charity mascot, Nova, sits on a purple armchair with their feet up on a purple footstool. They are waving and drinking a hot chocolate.

The Big Day: 5th July

Location: Anywhere!

Registration Fee: None

Fundraising Target: None

5th July is the anniversary of the launch of the NHS, and we’ll be celebrating the NHS Birthday Bash throughout July! Join us in sharing a beverage for a national outpouring of thanks for our healthcare heroes. The NHS Birthday Bash is about showing support for the people at the heart of the NHS and BCHC; the people who go above and beyond to care for us even in the darkest of times.

Host Your Own Birthday Bash Tea Party!

By hosting your own tea party, you’ll be helping BCHC Charity continue to make a difference for the incredible members of Team BCHC. Whether you’re commanding the kettle with your family, your work mates, or a local group, hosting an NHS Birthday Bash is a lovely way to bring your favourite people together, raise spirits and vital funds to support our NHS heroes. Just make sure you’ve got a good stock of biscuits! You can choose to host your tea party in person, taking small donations for drinks, snacks, or games. For example, why not try some teabag wanging? A much less dangerous version of welly-wanging in which participants try to fling a tea bag into a cup; the prize being a free cuppa! If you’re hosting virtually, you could try hosting a quiz or other fun virtual game; contact the Charity Team for more ideas! You can set up a fundraising page via our JustGiving page; simply click the ‘Fundraise For Us’ buttons and follow their instructions to create your page.

Get Involved: Corporates & Businesses

The NHS Birthday Bash is a great way to get your team together to take 5, check in with each other and raise funds for a great cause. You could even host an NHS Quiz in-person or virtually to bring your team together for a bit of fun!

We’re really looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on social media sharing a cuppa with us, so remember to use the hashtags #NHSBirthdayBash & #BCHCCharity so we can see your wonderful mugs!

The charity mascot, Nova, sits atop a pile of books, reading a blue book covered in starsWith no registration fees or fundraising targets, the Bookworm Challenge is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing fundraisers you can do. There are prize packs available in 3 different age categories for the Biggest Bookworms (most books read) and Fantastic Fundraisers (most money raised), so you could even end up with more books for your ‘To Read’ pile!
