The occupational therapy service offers virtual parent/carer workshops as part of our 'targeted' offer within our tiered service. These workshops aim to provide support for children and families with difficulties in their activities of daily living. The workshops are an opportunity for families to be taught activities and ideas to use with their children, in order to maximise their potential.

Sensory workshop

This parent/carer workshop aims to:

  • help parents/carers understand what the term 'sensory processing difficulties' means
  • support families to understand how sensory processing difficulties can impact on their child, and how will these difficulties be seen at home and school?
  • provide practical advice and activity ideas to manage sensory difficulties

The workshop is a two-hour presentation, which encourages peer support and an opportunity for parents/carers to ask questions
