SLT and SEND Support
The children’s SLT service works across Birmingham closely with partners in the Local Authority and across the wider children’s workforce from early years onwards to identify, assess and support children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and swallowing needs in line with the Children and Families Act 2014.
The SLT service is committed to working closely with parents / carers as well as other partners, being open and honest and supporting the children and young people to have a voice.

Support for Parents and Carers
As a parent or carer of a child or young person with SEND in Birmingham, you can access workshops and webinars where you can meet other parents and gain information and support from a range of professionals on topics including:

CQC/Ofsted Inspection
Following the last joint CQC / Ofsted local area inspection, the SLT service is working closely with Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group and local authority partners to improve access to speech and language therapy and collaborate to implement the whole-city SEND improvements required.
