Spotlight on a Business Administration Level 3 Apprentice

Continuing with our National Apprenticeship Week celebrations, we spoke with NDP Senior Booking Clerk and Business Administration Apprentice, Jenny Collins who was looking to upskill her career.
I joined BCHC’s Central Booking Service because as a mom of a young child, I wanted a role that was more flexible and having changed my career completely, I wanted to gain a qualification to allow me to grow and thanks to the support of my team and the BCHC Accredited Centre, I was able to join the apprenticeship programme.
My apprentice journey so far has been incredible, and it has allowed me to approach and look at my role differently as well as apply my new skills into my work. It also has given me the opportunity to explore other fields that I would not have encountered otherwise, such as financing. My tutor, Lorraine Bird has been amazing throughout and having members of BCHC on my course has given me an insight to the many opportunities BCHC has to offer and allowed me to make connections.
Starting this journey has been so important for me as I wanted to better myself and having a little girl, I lost myself when she went to school so it came around at the perfect time. My apprenticeship has allowed me to embrace new opportunities all while balancing my family, work, and study well and I do not think this would have been possible without the programme.
