Making A Difference With Makaton

Thanks to employment and training charity Landau, as part of the All Age Autism grant programme, BCHC Charity has been able to deliver projects and support activities that aim to help individuals with Autism lead happier, healthier, and more independent lives.

BCHC Charity was successful in receiving funding for two projects; you can find out more about these projects here.

Delivering this training session not only supported those who had already attended the previous introduction course but offered a chance to enhance their knowledge and provide other families and carers the opportunity to understand how they can support the communication needs of those they care for.

The course took place on Friday 14 June 2024 at Harvey Road Health Centre and was attended by 7 people. One parent who attended the session said, “It was a great course with lots of further information for help and support. I enjoyed using the signs, singing the songs, and looking through the resources available. [I am] Looking at the Level 2 course now. Thank you.” Another stated, “ The tutor was knowledgeable and supportive. The workshop was highly interactive and enjoyable. Thank you for such a valuable experience.”

BCHC Charity would like to offer our sincere thanks to Landau Limited and the All-Age Autism programme for allowing us to offer this support to BCHC service users.
