Vote for us in Tesco’s Stronger Starts Scheme
BCHC Charity needs your votes for a cash boost from the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme.
Stronger Starts provides grant awards to local community projects, and three groups in every community have been shortlisted to receive grant awards. Tesco customers can vote for the group they think should take the top award of £1,500 in their local Tesco store.
BCHC Charity is one of the groups on the shortlist in the Yardley area, for our project to provide up to 60 emergency food parcels for vulnerable families on the Swan District Nursing Team caseload.
The District Nursing team delivers care ranging from administering medications and dressing wounds, to caring for patients at the end of their life. Sharon Gerald, District Nursing Team Leader, said: “Support from Stronger Starts will make a huge difference. Many of our patients are very elderly and almost all of them are housebound and reliant on care from others”. This funding would make a difference to the most vulnerable on the caseload; those who live alone and are in food and/or fuel poverty.
Help us to bring a smile to these patients by voting for BCHC Charity in-store to receive the funding giving them an emergency food parcel which could just be the lifeline that they need.
Voting is open in Tesco stores from October 1st until the middle of January (date to be confirmed). Customers can cast their vote using a blue token given to them at the check-out each time they shop; simply pop your token into the voting booths near the store exits. You can vote for the project in the following stores:
- Olton Express Small unit B92 7HS
- Shirley Hobs Moat Exp Small unit B92 8JJ
- Sheldon Large unit B26 3DY
- Yardley Extra Large unit B26 1AD
