Caring colleagues get the 'VIP' treatment

Colleagues have been recognised for going 'above and beyond' at the Birmingham Community Healthcare Values in Practice (VIP) Awards

From a grand total of 102 nominations, seven teams and eleven individuals were recognised for commitment to Birmingham Community Healthcare's Values

In addition, four additional awards were given out – three ‘Good Samaritan’ awards for staff or teams that supported members of the public outside their normal job role, and one additional ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award.

BCHC chairman and lead judge on the awards panel Tom Storrow said: "Selecting winners and finalists from all the wonderful nominations we received is a pleasure and a privilege but also a real challenge - the shortlist has been selected from an extremely strong field."

Colleagues also heard from 32-year-old Nadine Grandison, who shared her story of recovery following a stroke and a brain haemorrhage, as recently published in the Birmingham Mail

Nadine, who now works as a volunteer 'buddy' at Moor Green Out-Patient Brain Injury Service, thanked all the staff there and at the Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Unit who supported her through a total of 15 months intensive rehabilitation.

A list of all winners and finalists can be found below.

A photo gallery from the evening can be found on our Facebook page and more information on the nominations can be found in the awards programme.
